Three Days Straight....

Day 1 : Thursday evening on the Lake

I hit the water around 5pm to try and get some LMB for this months KBF regional challenge. Also, this month is the AMI challenge for the national series, so us northerners have a good shot to win with a decent fish!!

Not much excitement Thursday night, caught some bass, but nothing with real size. My largest two were slightly over 30 inches combined. Most of the fish were caught on a crank or spinner...

Day 2 : Friday morning on the Lake

Not much more success.. Hit the water at 6am and threw just about everything I could think of. Caught probably 10 bass but none over what I had caught the day before... Oh well... it was a nice morning on the lake.

Friday day on the Bay

It was a beautiful day on the water, so I decided I would take my mom and little cousin that we were watching for the day for a boat ride. Cruised down to Breezy Point and up to Herrington Harbor. Ran into my buddy Capt. Luke, Miss Chesapeake Beach, while on the water and he insisted we must cast out a few lines for some perch. So he gave us 3 rods and some BW's. We instantly caught all kinds of small fish, but Dylan was loving it regardless and he went on to say he was the best fisherman on the bay.... haha. We caught baby perch, baby striped bass, baby spot and baby croaker consistently.

Friday night on the Lake

Hit the lake around 5pm again in search of some LMB and I found some improvements. Nothing huge, but a 17.5" and 16.75" to bump my total up a little. All caught on white spinner baits.

I also tried to practice some with frog lures to prepare for Saturday, but unfortunately all I caught with it was a snapping turtle and one small bass!!

Day 3 : Saturday morning on the Mattawoman

It was the monthly meet and greet for our Maryland Kayak Fishing group... and it was a great turn out!! I'd say over 20 kayakers hit the water early in search on some LMB, Snakeheads, and Catfish.

I caught 12 LMB, mostly in the 15-16" range and nothing bigger.

I also caught my 1st SNAKEHEAD!!!! Not sure how big it was as it got out of my lap while attempting to kill it. No picture either.... I know.... just means I have to catch another one!!!

It's Official....

I won the Kayak Bass Fishing Mid-Atlantic June Challenge with a total length of two fish of 40.50 inches. Turtle, another Maryland Kayak Fisherman came in a close second with 39 inches. I currently have 100pts in the Regional standings. First place in the overall standings after Septemeber would get me entered into the KBF Invitational, the KBF Open, and all 2013 KBF online challenges!!!

I'm gonna work hard these next couple months to consistently produce quality fish so I can earn the chance to participate in these other tournaments and represent for CBKA, MKF, Hobie, Bust Em Baits, and my new partner Astral Bouyancy. Hopefully I am able to make it as it will be a great opportunity to fish against some of the best Kayak Bass Fishermen in the country!!

For the June Challenge I won a YUM bait prize package, which I super excited to get in the mail!!! Thanks to KBF and YUM!!!

This month is gonna be another close fought challenge and Turtle already has the early lead with the help from a monster over 22" he caught this past weekend. I haven't been able to hit the water yet in July but I will be fishing Thursday through Saturday this week to get some fish on the board and a possible shot a snakehead, to put icing on the cake. Marathon fishing!!!
